Bottles are containers shaped with a top which is shaped for a screw-on cap.
96% of bottles are made of #1 and #2 resins which are readily recyclable but not always.

Examples of screw top bottle containers include pop bottles, mouthwash bottles,
water & juice bottles, laundry products, shampoo bottles.

Some examples of non-acceptable bottles include pesticide containers, oil containers and prescription medicine containers because of the contents. Some bottles may have a #1 or #2 on them but they are not accepted at the curb because they also have other layersA that make them not recyclable (ie. ketchup bottles, and some orange juice containers). The layers are added for UV ray protection to keep the contents longer but they make the bottle non-recyclable. Also, bottles over 10 litres are not acceptable at this time.
